What happens when you start life without the sacred space and the foundations of your ‘self,’ that lead you to believe you are not good enough? When we grow up not feeling good enough, having to create roles, and facades to get through life, always having to be compliant or hide parts of your ‘self’ because you were considered too much. It creates stress in you body and your body becomes out of alignment and restricts the flow in your system, which not only creates stress but causes an emotional over load too.

Age means, Are good enough. But how do you reach this feeling?
Age is never about our actual age, it’s about our emotional age and our physical age.
When we become stressed, going against the tide and continually struggling in life, with the, I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH story, it creates a stress in our system that shortens our telomeres, and our telomeres determine how we age. So love on the inside is linked to how old you age. If we grow up and we do not come from emotional and physical consistency, clarity, safety and compassion, life can get confusing which leads us to believe we are not good enough, or burnout, or choose wrong relationships, or over work, or become confused, which puts a stress on our system, and creates the hormone Cortisol.
I call this the BIG C, as much as I call the base we step from, our parents the BIG C of CLARITY AND CONSISTENCY (hopefully.) This is the home of our SELF, a place that should get created between the age of 0-3, but life happens and this in not always the case, which means we do not grow emotionally in the way that we would hope. We grow physically but not emotionally.
Trauma and a lack of our ‘self’ prevent us from growing emotionally and we can become stuck. So we could be 30 and still be 5 inside. We could be 60 physically and are body age can be 30 if we look after it properly, but our body age depends also on our emotional age. If our bodies are omitting cortisol all over the place because of triggers due to trauma or lack of clarity and consistency and lack of ‘self,’ then our telomeres are prematurely aging, which is ageing our physical body.
Not only is cortisol affecting our age, you will find the sugar ,and alcohol, or refined sugar that we eat to try and control cortisol, also puts a stress on our AGE. And then because we are not eating the right foods our bodies don’t really want to work out or keep in shape, which is another telomere ager. Lack of exercise significantly accelerates your cellular or telomere age. Being sedentary increases oxidative stress and inflammation, which speeds up telomere shortening
So it is all linked like a web. You grow with good foundations and everything just seems to work easier and more efficiently. Grow from no self or foundation and life is a struggle, full of symptoms, stress, weight, everything and anything else you can think of.
So what are telomeres? If you have heard of them then you know the term shoe laces. This is how they get described everywhere. Thank goodness for visuals hey.
Telomeres are the protective caps at the ends of our chromosomes, similar to the plastic tips on the end of shoelaces. Telomeres are made of DNA sequences, they protect our genetic data from fraying or fusing with other chromosomes during cell division.
Each time a cell divides, the telomeres become slightly shorter. Once they become too short, the cell can no longer divide. It either enters a resting state (senescence) or dies (apoptosis). This continuous shortening acts as a biological clock, dictating the lifespan of our cells which determines aging.
Turning to your inside and creating a solid foundation, opening the door to yourself and creating a space where you can find your ‘Self’ can help you reduce your levels of cortisol, create your foundations for a system that works easier, so that it is not so damaging to our cells and body. Helping you to age slower.
