Art and creativity are the language of the soul, the gateway to the connection of source. The very source of who you are. Often in life, we become so busy that we forget our intuition, wisdom, and peace lie at the centre of our art and creativity, the way in which the soul can communicate fully, with freedom, and be seen without judgement, in full acceptance.

Our soul communicates is metaphor, symbols, images and stories. The truth of who we are can be found here in this very place. But for many of us the connection to this place can be very scary and can feel extremely messy, because at this centre you will also find the truth, your emotions, your ‘SELF’ and the real you.

For some of us this can feels so overwhelming because we have absolutely no idea what is there or how to even get there, so it is easier to keep disconnected from our beautiful creativity. And for most of us we have learnt through childhood to disconnect from our true self and creativity because life was just not safe enough emotionally or physically, and through the process of protecting our very soul, we create a role, a persona, a facade to show the world to keep us protected, and this disconnects us from our true wisdom, beauty and creativity.

The type of creativity I am talking about is the deep soul creation, that comes with no judgment, no perfection, no preconceived idea of how it should look, and absolutely no thought. It isn’t copied or studied, or perfected. It just is, in its raw vulnerability. It is beautiful knowing the dark and light that exists in this creativity, and it is this very place that sets you free.

There are times in our lives that we get the opportunity to reconnect by chance, through giref, loss and transition, gateways open up as our lives become messy. Times when we lose control, and we are able to go with the river. We can choose to ignore it or we can embrace this time with our creativity and reconnect to our soul. To hear her whispers guiding you home to that place of peace, freedom and joy, true blissful joy that does not require external conditions, or expectations .

But true wisdom and change come when we are held in the sacred place with this creativity. Where we are witnessed, accepted and free to just be. A place where we can find compassion, comfort, and warmth. A place where we find the light. A place where the light and dark dance together in harmony.

My creativity became my best friend through the journey, a way of connecting to my inner world, a place where the confusion could unravel, and be truly seen. At times it was heartbreaking, full of tears, and other moments angry and dark, weaved by moments of confusion and absolute true bliss and joy. Accepting every part of you and flowing with the river is the key to your return. Find the scared Space and reconnect to who you truly are. Be seen, be heard, and be accepted.

Veritas, sapientia, Gaudium, become you and you find your ‘self’. And remember you have to lose yourself to find your ‘self’.
